This classic play was first staged in 1924 and is set in the working class tenements of Dublin.  The play offers a compelling look at the family conflicts of a struggling Irish matriarch, Juno, and her attempts to keep her children safe and her husband, “Captain” Jack Boyle, sober.  While Jack tries to avoid work and to spend his time with his friend Joxer, a series of disastrous events envelops his wife, daughter and son.

An unexpected legacy offers hope to the family, amid the dangers of partisan conflict, but nothing goes according to plan.

Our production played to full houses.

I killin’ meself workin’, an’ he sthruttin’ about from mornin’ till night like a paycock! – Juno
